BEST BEEF CUT FOR SANDWICHES

Q. Wondering if you have a suggestion for a cut of meat for steak sandwiches and a prep method for the meat. ~ Maureen

A. Here are my thoughts on your question, based on my experience:

It depends on how thin you're going to slice the meat. For example, if you used something like round or even chuck, it'd need to be sliced very thinly after grilling/cooking it.

But to be safe, I'd opt for something from the loin; tenderloin would be the safest or best bet, and it wouldn't necessarily need to be sliced thinly. New York or Kansas City strips would be another choice.

As for "prep method," grilling or pan searing are two well-worn ways.
